Bulk Battery Recycling

Safe, Efficient, and Sustainable Lithium Battery Recovery at Scale

Australia currently recycles less than 15% of its lithium batteries. We’re here to change that — one tonne at a time.

Why Choose Li-ion Energy?

We’re more than recyclers — we’re innovators. Our circular model adds value to every battery collected by prioritising reuse first, then recycling. We help reduce your costs, increase your ESG impact, and divert batteries from landfill.

Li-ion Energy is a leading provider of bulk lithium battery recycling services. We work with government agencies, waste management companies and business-direct across multiple industries to handle large volumes of lithium batteries — safely, responsibly, and with a strong focus on reuse and resource recovery. Whether it’s 100kg or 100 tonnes, Li-ion Energy can provide lower prices and the highest level of safety and compliance for your organisation’s needs.

What We Offer

  • Recycling Certificate
You will be provided with a itemised, comprehensive certificate of recycling that’s compliant with regulatory requirements and can be tailored to suit your needs.
  • Bulk Collection & Logistics
End-to-end transport and collection solutions for lithium batteries in all conditions. We offer fire-mitigated bins, DG-compliant handling, and secure chain-of-custody tracking.
  • Sorting, Dismantling & De-energising
Our team dismantles battery packs down to the cell level, sorts them for reuse or recycling, and ensures all non-recoverable cells are safely discharged and prepared for end-of-life processing.
  • Reconditioning & Reuse
Up to 80% of the cells we process are reused. This significantly reduces environmental impact, carbon emissions, and disposal costs for our clients.
  • Compliance & Reporting
We meet all state and national regulations, providing full documentation, weight tracking, and audit-ready reports. Our process aligns with ABRI guidelines and circular economy principles.
  • Accreditation/Competency
At Li-ion Energy, we operate to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and industry best practice.

We are proud to be:

  • Corporate Members of ABRI
(Association for the Battery Recycling Industry of Australia)
As members of ABRI, we stay at the forefront of national battery recycling policy, compliance standards, and responsible industry development.
  • Members of WRIWA
(Waste Recycling Industry Association of Western Australia)
Through WRIWA, we actively contribute to WA’s waste management sector, participating in policy consultation, industry collaboration, and environmental leadership initiatives.

The Circular Battery Economy

Our team is trained, competent, and safety-focused, with verification of competency (VOC) required for all power tool operations, dismantling tasks, and high-risk activities. Our operations follow all relevant Dangerous Goods, WorkSafe, and EPA regulations — from battery classification and handling through to end-of-life processing and reporting.

Li-ion Energy is committed to professional standards, transparent processes, and building a safer, more circular battery economy in Australia
